Seon & John were married just three days before my knee surgery this past September at Mt Hood Organic Farms. They planned their wedding from New York, so I wasn’t able to meet them in person until their engagement session just days before their wedding. They are just the sweetest couple, though, and we hit it off right away. Spencer and I had a great time with their friends and family on the wedding day, and I’m excited to share these images with you!
Spencer had me stop on the drive to take photos of the fire on the mountain. And, yes, he stood in the middle of the highway to do it…
I was with the girls, and Spencer was with the guys.
I love colorful shoes!
I just loved both of these. She’s such a beautiful, happy bride!
What I love about outdoor happy hours and receptions is the ability to easily get lots of candids of guests. Being outdoors with plenty of light allows us to be more stealthy, without having to get up close with a flash and ruin the moment we’re trying to capture.
A few shots of Seon & John and the bridal party while the guests were getting settled in the apple house for dinner.
One trend I noticed in 2011, which I loved, was the couples writing personalized messages for each guest at the wedding. I think it makes a great favor, and helps the couple reflect on and appreciate their relationships with their guests. And, of course, everyone loved them!
Waiting to be introduced as husband and wife!
A prayer before dinner.
We snagged them for about 4 minutes just before sunset, like we always try and do, for a few shots in the evening light.
