Edited to add: I started this post 6 or 7 months ago, then forgot about it until I came across it just now. To the person who originally emailed me…I apologize it took so long!
I received an e-mail asking if I could do another “How I do that” post using images from my baby post not too long ago. Although I don’t always have as much time as I’d like, I do like helping out other photographers, especially when they title their e-mail as “fan e-mail.” 😉 So, here are some straight out of camera (SOOC), proof, and final images! The SOOC images have only been sharpened for web.
The adorable Abby, SOOC.
Proof stage. Slight exposure and contrast bump, and color balance. Then, Kubota’s midbright at 9% and the Daily Multi Vitamin.
Final image. Added Jesh’s Warm 70’s Love to the proof. I believe I also used Totally Rad’s pro retouch to brighten her eyes a bit.
Kelsey & Colby SOOC.
Again, exposure, contrast, then midbright 9% & Multi-Vitamin.
Liquify tool, Pro retouch, Warm 70’s Love, and some digital light painting.
Midbright 9%, Multi Vitamin.
Final. Lux Soft w/some Get Faded (autumn).
And, now to FINALLY finish up this blog post (SO sorry it took so long!!), one before and after from Isabelle’s newborn session earlier this month. A lot of this one was done by Spencer (he’s better at the more complicated PS work!), but we did Totally Rad Pro-retouch for skin smoothing and to brighten the eyes, and some selective curves adjustments to remove the red blotches and even out the skin tone. Digital light painting was done to give the image more depth (make the shadows darker and the highlights brighter). Then, finally some of Jesh de Rox’s colorshift actions to add some of my special toning.
