Here’s a few things about me to start out. I hope to get the chance to know you as well!
-I live in a house full of boys: my husband, Spencer, our wonderful boys, Noah and Calvin, and our two adorable kitties, Lono & Sphaaretel
-I love my iPhone Hipstamatic just as much as my dslr’s!
-My friends are like family to me, and I’m very grateful to have them as my support system
-If I was not a photographer, I would want to be an Anthropology professor (physical anthropology…I’d especially love to study the evolution of the brain)
-I’m afraid of sharks in the swimming pool (completely irrational, I know) & snakes in the toilet (hey, I did see that one on TV!)
-I would love to take Noah to Japan someday
-My favorite thing to do is fall asleep on my husband’s chest while watching X-Files
-I love tea, and collect coffee cups
-I don’t like to stay in the same spot for too long. I like to shoot at new locations, and I want to live in other countries and states.
-I got stabbed in the pinky toe with a pitch fork by the neighbor boy while he was hunting for snakes in his yard. For some reason I don’t mind pitch forks, but can’t stand snakes
-My absolute favorite thing about photography is making people feel good about themselves. I tear up whenever a bride tells me how beautiful I made her feel. Actually, tied with that, is when a bride becomes a friend, which luckily happens quite a lot
about spencer: My husband, Spencer, is the studio manager, my portable light stand, official second shooter and my best friend. He’s the one that drives me nuts the most, but is also the one that makes me feel most loved. He enjoys my ups and endures my downs, and I’ve never been able to count on anyone as much as I can count on him. He’s good at everything he does, which makes me strive to be that much better (and, admittedly, a little jealous at times). He also shoots bands and portraits in the studio and on location, as well as whatever creative concept shoot he comes up with. I always look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.
about YOU: You are a fun, sassy, but sweet person that wants to feel beautiful in your pictures. Your wedding or portrait session isn’t some generic JC Penny-esque event. You are looking for a photographer that appreciates all things vintage and modern, and won’t even consider cheesy, forced poses, but instead thinks outside the box. You may love photography, or hate having your picture taken, but either way you trust me to create intimate, fun and creative images, which express the multitude of emotions you feel at this stage in your life.
